The Capital Scholastic Hockey League’s Player of the Year was titled to T.C. Williams High School hockey player Jason Townsend on Feb. 27. Townsend is a senior at T.C. Williams. He led the league with 21 goals and 20 assists during the 2019-2020 season and also played a key role in T.C. Williams’ playoff wins.
According to the alextimes.com, “Townsend had five goals and three assists in the team’s 10-2 quarterfinal win over Woodbridge High School and secured T.C. Williams’ path to the championship with two goals in a shootout against West Potomac High School. T.C. Williams lost to Lake Braddock High School in the CSHL finals on Feb. 29, ending the team’s 11-game win streak. Townsend wasn’t the only Titan recognized by the CSHL. Owen Grainger, along with Townsend, was named to the first team, and Luke Mattson was named to the third team.”
